The National Disaster Reduction Commission has initiated a level four flood control emergency response in Chongqing and Shaanxi.

According to the meteorological department forecast, from September 17 to 22, the southwestern region of China will experience heavy rainfall, with some areas in western Chongqing and southern Shaanxi expecting heavy rainstorms. In accordance with the provisions of the "National Flood Control and Drought Relief Emergency Plan", the National Flood Control Headquarters has decided to initiate a level four emergency response for flood control in Chongqing and Shaanxi at 11:00 on September 17.
