Ningde Times Yuqun: The winning price of the energy storage system centralized procurement project is lower than 0.4 yuan/Wh, which seriously deviates from the cost.

At the 2025 World Energy Storage Conference held today, the founder and chairman of CATL, Zeng Yuqun, mentioned in his speech that the price competition in the energy storage industry is extremely intense. He mentioned that in the past three years, the price of energy storage systems has decreased by about 80%, and the winning bid price for a recent large-scale procurement project was even lower than 0.4 yuan/Wh, significantly deviating from the cost. He believes that low prices will inevitably lead to reduced quantity and quality in the industry. This year, price wars have spread overseas, not only causing a rapid decline in the gross profit of energy storage companies but also being unsustainable in the long run.
