Trump angrily rebuts Australian journalist's question about his family's wealth, saying it damages the atmosphere of his meeting with the Australian Prime Minister.
US President Donald Trump got into a dispute with an Australian reporter on the White House lawn regarding his personal wealth issues, and seemed to confirm a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during next week's United Nations summit. When asked by an Australian Broadcasting Corporation reporter on Tuesday how much his wealth had increased since returning to the presidency, Trump replied, "I don't know," and pointed out that his children were managing the family business, "Most of the deals I have done were completed before." The ABC reporter then asked if it was appropriate for a sitting president to be involved in so many business activities, prompting Trump to ask the reporter where they were from. "In my opinion, you are seriously harming Australia right now. They want to have good relations with me," Trump said. "You know, your leaders are coming to see me soon. I'm going to talk to him about you. You have created a very bad atmosphere." When the reporter continued to ask questions, Trump said, "Quiet."
