Brazil criticizes the United States for using tariffs as a tool in the ideological war.
Brazil's Finance Minister Fernando Azevedo said on the 16th that the recent imposition of high tariffs by the United States on various Brazilian goods entering the US market is not based on economic considerations, but on using tariffs as a tool in ideological warfare. Azevedo pointed out during a video participation in an event in So Paulo on the same day that from the perspective of Brazil-US trade relations, the United States has no reason to treat Brazil differently, and this tariff increase is mainly for political purposes. He stated that as a result of the US tariff policy, Brazilian exports will shift to other markets. Azevedo said, "We have high-quality oil, grains, fish, meat... Brazil's products have no shortage of buyers."
