On the evening of September 15th, CATL stated on the investor interaction platform that the company released sodium-ion batteries in April, and by early September, the sodium-ion batteries had already passed the new national standard certification, becoming the world's first sodium-ion battery to pass the new national standard certification. Currently, the company's sodium-ion batteries for passenger vehicles are being developed and implemented with customers, progressing smoothly. It is reported that the energy density of CATL's sodium-ion batteries reaches 175Wh/kg, with a cycle life of over 3000 times. Pacific Securities pointed out that after the certification, these batteries can enter the domestic and international energy storage and low-speed electric vehicle markets in compliance, solving the previous application limitations of sodium batteries due to the lack of national standards, and accelerating the industrialization and implementation of sodium-ion batteries.
