Recently, there have been rumors on the internet about "16 gold merchants running away from Shuibei, Shenzhen" and "multiple gold merchants in Shuibei defaulting and running away", stating that "more than ten gold merchants in Shuibei suddenly closed their businesses and ceased contact, making it difficult for downstream merchants to retrieve prepaid funds, involving over a hundred downstream wholesale merchants." These rumors spread quickly within the gold industry, causing concerns among many practitioners and investors. On September 16, reporters visited Shuibei in person and found that the major gold markets were bustling with people, with both gold sales and gold recycling businesses thriving. Most of the businesses listed in the online rumors were operating normally, with only a few individual businesses like Yuebaoxin temporarily closed. Subsequently, reporters went to the Shenzhen Gold and Jewelry Industry Association to inquire about the situation. Association staff told reporters that Yuebaoxin is a relatively small company in Shuibei and not the "industry leader" as rumored online. The head of the association said, "Yesterday we had people go to the scene with the officials from Cuizhu Street Office to investigate the situation. We visited all the stores listed in the online rumors, and found that many of the enterprises are still operating normally. Currently, for the few businesses facing issues, the public security department has intervened according to law, and affected merchants can seek legal recourse. We advise everyone to rationally view online rumors, not to believe or spread unverified information." The association reminded that investing in precious metals is a market behavior with inherent risks, and urged investors to make rational judgments and prudent decisions based on reliable information.
