Russian oil transport company issues production cut warning, with limited storage capacity in the system.
According to three industry insiders, the Russian national oil pipeline transportation company has issued a warning to oil producers: due to Ukrainian drones attacking key Russian export ports and refineries, producers may have to cut production in the future. Ukrainian military officials and Russian industry insiders have said that Ukrainian drones have hit at least 10 Russian refineries and caused damage to major Russian ports along the Baltic Sea coast, such as the Ust-Luga and Primorsk ports. Two industry insiders from Russian oil companies revealed that the Russian oil transportation company, which handles over 80% of Russia's oil transportation tasks, has recently restricted the ability of oil companies to store oil in its pipeline system. These two insiders also stated that the Russian oil transportation company has warned producers that if their infrastructure is further damaged, the company may have to reduce the amount of oil it receives. After the news came out, US and Brent crude oil prices rose slightly, up 0.76% and 0.54% respectively.
