"Public Consultation on the Criteria for Identifying Service Providers of Internet Platforms with a Large Number of Underage Users and Significant Impact on the Underage Population"
The Cyberspace Administration of China, together with the National News and Publishing Administration, the Film Department, and relevant departments such as the Ministry of Education, Telecommunications, Public Security, Culture and Tourism, Market Supervision, and Radio and Television, drafted the "Measures for the Identification of Network Platform Service Providers with a Large Number of Underage Users and Significant Influence on Minors" and are now soliciting public opinions. The "Regulations on the Protection of Minors in Cyberspace" clearly stipulates the universal protection obligation of online platforms towards minors, and in Article 20, it specifies special obligations for online platforms with a large number of underage users and significant impact on minors. The "Measures" implement the requirements of the "Regulations," detailing specific identification criteria, identification processes, and related work requirements, to firmly hold online platforms accountable for the protection of minors in cyberspace and better safeguard their healthy growth.
