The Beijing Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau introduced yesterday that from January to August this year, the average concentration of fine particulate matter in Beijing was 25.6 micrograms per cubic meter, a year-on-year decrease of 17.2%; there were 198 days of good and excellent air quality, an increase of 20 days compared to the previous year. In August, the average concentration of PM2.5 in the city was 16.7 micrograms per cubic meter. Next, Beijing will continue to deeply implement the "0.1 microgram" action plan, continuously promote the improvement of the structure, engineering, and management in the three major areas, coordinate regional joint defense and control efforts for comprehensive pollution control in autumn and winter, and strive to continuously improve air quality.
