Research institute Canalys announced today that the PC market (excluding tablets) in India in the second quarter of 2025 saw a year-on-year increase of 6% with shipments reaching 3.6 million units. Due to the growth in enterprise demand and the preference for AI devices, laptops were the main driver of growth with an 8% increase in shipments to 2.7 million units. Desktop shipments remained stable with a slight increase of 1% to reach 861,000 units. HP topped the shipments in the Indian PC market in the second quarter of 2025 with a market share of 30.2%, showing a 0.2% year-on-year increase in shipments, while Lenovo ranked second with a market share of 19.9%, showing a significant year-on-year increase of 19.3% in shipments. As for tablet shipments, Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi ranked top three with Samsung experiencing a 40.7% year-on-year decrease, Apple showing a 41.1% year-on-year growth, and Xiaomi witnessing a significant increase of 71.9% year-on-year. Xiaomi surpassed Lenovo in the second quarter to move up to the third position in the tablet market.
