Today, the reporter learned from China Railway Group that the railway transportation for the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays will start from September 29th. According to the regulations of pre-sale 15 days in advance, tickets for the same day will be available for sale starting today. This year, the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays are combined for an 8-day break. It is expected that the travel, visiting relatives, and student transportation demands will be intertwined, leading to a large overall volume of railway passengers, with peak travel times and "long-distance travel at the beginning and end, and short to medium-distance travel in the middle" characteristics. In response to the characteristics of holiday passenger flow, the railway transportation plan for the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays has been adjusted in advance and postponed: starting from September 29th to end on October 10th, lasting for 12 days. During this period, it is estimated that the national railway will transport 219 million passengers, with October 1st being the peak travel day.
