From January to August, the national urban survey unemployment rate average was 5.2%. In August, the national urban survey unemployment rate was 5.3%, a 0.1 percentage point increase from the previous month, and the same as the same month last year. The surveyed unemployment rate for local registered labor force was 5.4%; for non-local registered labor force was 5.0%, with a 4.7% unemployment rate for non-local agricultural registered labor force. The urban survey unemployment rate for 31 major cities was 5.3%, a 0.1 percentage point increase from the previous month, and a 0.1 percentage point decrease from the same month last year. The average weekly working hours for employed personnel nationwide is 48.5 hours.
