United Health Group seeks to meet with Trump.
According to the Wall Street Journal, UnitedHealth Group has sought to meet with President Trump, but the meeting arrangement has not been confirmed yet. The report stated that as the largest health insurance company in the United States, UnitedHealth Group is currently facing multiple regulatory challenges, and seeking a meeting is one of its efforts to strengthen lobbying in Washington D.C. UnitedHealth Group is currently dealing with high cost pressures and federal investigations, including a criminal investigation into its billing practices for federal health insurance -- as a result of these factors, the company's stock price has dropped by about 30% this year. In May, Stephen Hemsley returned as the CEO and promised to regain investor trust. A White House official revealed that Hemsley recently met with Trump's chief of staff, but the CEO did not mention or discuss the topic of the criminal investigation during the meeting.
