Recently, several Bank of Shanghai credit card users have reported on social media that their Mastercard "Priceless World Card" has been subject to overseas unauthorized transactions. Most of the related transactions occurred without the cardholders' knowledge or any overseas transaction activity, causing concerns in the market about payment security. In the early morning of September 13, the Bank of Shanghai Credit Card Center issued a statement stating that they have recently detected unauthorized transactions on some "Priceless World Cards". The Bank of Shanghai stated that they have worked with Mastercard to immediately activate emergency response mechanisms to "determine and block risks in a timely manner" and promised to prevent customers from bearing "losses that should not be borne by them", fully safeguarding customers' legitimate rights and interests. On the same day, Mastercard Network also announced that they have detected unauthorized transactions on some Mastercard cards within China. Mastercard Network and issuing banks have established a special task force to trace the source of risks, block potential risks, and facilitate cardholders' fund protection processes to ensure that customers' interests are not compromised.
