European Central Bank official Kocherlakota stated: the interest rate-cutting cycle "has ended" or "is very close to ending"
Martin Kohler, Governor of the Central Bank of Austria and member of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank, said in an interview that the current interest rate cycle of the European Central Bank has ended or is very close to ending. Kohler revealed that as long as there are no significant shocks in economic data, the European Central Bank can currently maintain interest rates unchanged. He added that if data changes and risk assessments need adjustment, it is necessary to take appropriate measures, and the direction of action "may be two-sided". When asked about the issue of rising borrowing costs in France, Kohler pointed out that the current level of borrowing costs in France is still much lower than it was during the Eurozone debt crisis about 10 years ago, so the European Central Bank "does not need to take action".
