Goldman Sachs Vice President Robert Kaplan said investors are starting to question whether they have invested too much money in the United States as more and more financial institutions are turning their sights to Europe and Asia to seek growth opportunities. Kaplan said on Friday that some investors are considering hedging the US dollar to guard against exchange rate fluctuations. "The situation since January is that people are still bullish on the United States, but they are starting to say, 'I think we are overexposed to the United States,'" Kaplan said. "We are having hedging conversations with people around the world, and some of them have never hedged the US dollar in the past 15 years." Kaplan noted that while investors still see the United States as a safe haven for funds, "they are a bit more confused about the institutional framework in the United States."
