Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration issued the "Special Action Plan for the Scale Construction of New Energy Storage". The overall goal proposed in the plan is that by 2027, the total installed capacity of new energy storage in the country will exceed 180 million kilowatts, driving direct investment in projects of approximately 250 billion yuan. The main technology route for new energy storage will still be lithium-ion batteries, with various technology routes and application scenarios further enriched, cultivating a number of pilot application projects and creating a number of typical application scenarios. According to interviews with industry insiders by a reporter from the Shanghai Securities Daily, the installed capacity of new energy storage in China exceeded 100 gigawatts in the first half of this year. It is highly achievable to add another 80 gigawatts by 2027, and may even be completed ahead of schedule. The issuance of the plan reflects the trend of "first restraint and then stability" in energy storage policies this year, which will help stabilize the predictability of energy storage investment returns and boost subsequent installations.
