The world's first ultra-heavy oil solar thermal development project has been put into operation in Karamay, Xinjiang.

Today, it was learned from China National Petroleum Corporation that the world's first Tower-type concentrated solar thermal alternative demonstration project for ultra-heavy oil extraction has been put into operation in Xinjiang. It can replace nearly 3.92 million cubic meters of natural gas annually, marking a major technological breakthrough in China's oil and gas development, green and low-carbon transformation.
