Lobbying groups call for the inclusion of the "technology bridge" between the UK and the US in the blockchain.
In the run-up to President Trump's visit to the UK next week, multiple British trade groups are urging the government to include blockchain technology in any technical innovation cooperation agreements signed with the United States. A letter to the UK Business Minister shows that more than a dozen groups representing the financial, technology, and cryptocurrency industries believe that distributed ledger technology should be a "core component" of the so-called "UK-US tech bridge." President Trump, who has embraced cryptocurrencies during his second term, will lead a delegation of tech leaders on this state visit, including OpenAI founder Sam Altman and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. Reports suggest that an agreement between the two countries will establish a "complementary partnership" in areas such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
