Since the implementation of the new policy on tax-free shopping on outlying islands in Hainan, the total shopping amount has exceeded 200 billion yuan.

According to the statistics of Haikou Customs, since July 1, 2020, the annual duty-free shopping quota for outbound passengers in Hainan's outlying islands has been raised to 100,000 yuan per person, and the duty-free limit for single items has been canceled. The types of duty-free goods have increased to include electronic consumer products and 7 other categories of goods. Since the implementation of the new policy, as of September 11th, Haikou Customs has supervised duty-free shopping amounting to over 200 billion yuan, with 30 million duty-free shoppers and 2.47 billion duty-free shopping items.
