In order to further regulate the information dissemination behavior of "self-media" and continuously create a clean online space, WeChat platform has launched a special action called "Clean and Rectify the Dissemination of False Information by 'Self-media'", aiming to rectify the dissemination of false information by "self-media". The focus is on cracking down on four types of violations and behaviors: maliciously hyping and misleading the public, distorting facts through various means without proper labeling, spreading misinformation in professional fields, etc. Since the start of the special action, a total of 31,334 pieces of violating content have been handled, 4,454 accounts have been dealt with. Depending on the violation, in combination with the special requirements and platform rules, measures such as limiting traffic, prohibiting the addition of new followers, suspending profit-making permissions, muting, and banning accounts have been taken in a stepped manner.
