Adverse weather conditions restrict or prohibit entry into hiking trails, Shenzhen plans to introduce new regulations.
Recently, the Shenzhen Urban Management and Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau released the "Shenzhen Hiking Trail Management Regulations" for public consultation. Several provisions in the regulations address social concerns, aiming to create a harmonious coexistence between people and nature in the city's green spaces through institutionalization and rule of law. The regulations state that in the event of severe weather such as heavy rain, strong winds, or smog, timely warning information should be issued, and access to hiking trails may be restricted or prohibited based on actual conditions. A mechanism for road closures and temporary construction feedback should be established, with clear signage, specified opening hours, and timely public announcements. Furthermore, the regulations specify the daily opening hours for hiking trails, with clear signage at entrances, and prohibit entry signs in non-open areas.
