Ministry of Finance: During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, nearly 10 trillion yuan will be invested in improving people's livelihoods.

This afternoon, the State Council Information Office held a series of theme press conferences on "high-quality completion of the 14th Five-Year Plan." During the press conference, Minister of Finance Liao Fu'an introduced that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the orientation of national finance towards people's livelihood has become more prominent, and the achievements of China's modernization have been more extensive and equitable to benefit all people. Minister of Finance Liao Fu'an stated that in the national financial accounts, the heaviest and most substantial component has always been people's livelihood. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the national general public budget will allocate 20.5 trillion yuan for education expenditure, 19.6 trillion yuan for social security and employment expenditure, 10.6 trillion yuan for health expenditure, and 4 trillion yuan for housing security expenditure, in addition to other expenditures, with nearly 10 trillion yuan invested in people's livelihood. This year, the national financial arrangements include 100 billion yuan for childcare subsidies and 200 billion yuan for gradually implementing free pre-school education, actively responding to people's concerns. It can be said that whether in bustling cities or remote villages, from children learning to speak to elderly people, everyone can enjoy an increasing amount and quality of livelihood security.
