Major European stock indexes closed higher.

The European Stoxx 600 index rose by 0.51%. The UK's FTSE 100 index rose by 0.73%; Germany's DAX index rose by 0.26%. France's CAC 40 index rose by 0.76%; Spain's IBEX index rose by 0.59%.
