On September 11th, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal issued a notice regarding the security control measures and consular visa services in Nepal. The full text is as follows:
On the evening of September 10th, the Nepalese military issued a latest announcement, based on the assessment of the security situation, the curfew in Kathmandu and other areas will be extended until 6 am on September 12th, and may be further extended as needed. The social security situation in Nepal is gradually stabilizing, but the security risks are still high, and the situation is still evolving.
1. The Chinese Embassy in Nepal once again reminds Chinese citizens and institutions in Nepal to remain highly vigilant, closely monitor the local situation, promptly understand the latest announcements by the Nepalese military, strictly adhere to the Nepalese security control measures, enhance security precautions, and be prepared for emergencies. In case of emergencies, seek assistance from nearby military or police on duty in a timely manner.
2. In the event of a Chinese citizen in Nepal experiencing a damaged, lost, or stolen passport, they can apply for a new passport or travel document online through the "Chinese Consular" app. After the online verification is approved, they can go to the Chinese Embassy in Nepal for processing, and they can receive the new document as quickly as the next day. After obtaining the new document, please go to the Nepal Immigration Office for visa reissuance.
3. The Kathmandu China Visa Application Service Center is tentatively scheduled to resume normal operations from September 15th, with visa application acceptance times from 9 am to 3 pm and passport collection times from 1 pm to 4 pm. Applicants are advised to schedule their time accordingly.
