Maduro: The United States is trying to slander Venezuela in order to obtain resources.

According to Venezuelan media on September 9th local time, Venezuelan President Maduro stated in an interview with Russia Today TV that Venezuela condemns the US attempt to maintain its global hegemony in political, economic, cultural, and military fields through force. He emphasized that the so-called "fight against drug trafficking" by the US is a Hollywood-style narrative to smear Venezuela and find excuses for its military actions. Maduro pointed out that the true purpose of the US deploying military forces in the Caribbean region is to seize Venezuela's resources such as oil, natural gas, high-quality arable land, and gold reserves, as well as covet Venezuela's strategic geographical location.
