On September 10, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council held a special seminar on the work of central enterprise boards of directors. Tan Zuojun, a member of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, attended the seminar and delivered a speech. Relevant leaders from the Central Organization Department were invited to participate in the seminar. Tan Zuojun pointed out that central enterprises have made new progress and achievements in building a scientific, rational, and efficient board of directors by deeply studying and implementing the important principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping on adhering to the "two upholds" and building a modern corporate system with Chinese characteristics. Based on the functions of the board of directors, it is necessary to bring out the diverse perspectives and expertise of external directors, focus on the formulation of the "Fifteen-Five" Plan, clarify the goals and tasks of board construction, clarify the boundaries of authority and responsibility of different governance entities, and strengthen the supervision role of the board of directors. The seminar was attended by responsible leaders and external directors from five central enterprises such as China Electronics, Southern Power Grid, China Huaneng, China Coal Technology and Engineering Group, and China Nonferrous Group, as well as representatives of external directors and secretaries of the board. Leaders from the Planning Department of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission also presented a special report on the formulation of the "Fifteen-Five" Plan. Responsible leaders from central enterprises, external directors, board secretaries, relevant leaders from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and Party committee secretaries of full-time external directors from central enterprises participated in the seminar.
