Japanese electricity giant JERA announced on the 11th that it has signed a letter of intent with the American energy infrastructure company Glenn Fane Group regarding the supply of gas to JERA from the American Alaska LNG project led by the latter. However, the Japanese side still needs to conduct a risk assessment on this costly project. According to the letter of intent, the Alaska LNG project will supply 1 million tons of liquefied natural gas to JERA each year for a period of 20 years. The Glenn Fane Group plans to make a final investment decision on the pipeline project later this year and finalize the arrangements for the export of liquefied natural gas next year.
