Hong Kong stock market midday review: Hang Seng Index fell by 0.29%, Hang Seng Technology Index fell by 0.09%.

Hong Kong stocks closed slightly lower at midday, with the Hang Seng Index falling by 0.29% and the Hang Seng Technology Index dropping by 0.09%. The Hong Kong Tech ETF decreased by 0.17% and the Hang Seng Stock Connect ETF declined by 0.35%. In terms of sectors, the forestry and paper products as well as the semiconductor products and equipment sectors performed well, while the biotechnology and life science tools sectors saw decreases. Among individual stocks, ZTE Communications rose by 7.74% and SMIC increased by 6.05%, while Hansoh Pharmaceutical fell by 9.18% and Tide Pharmaceutical dropped by 10.44%. Additionally, iFlytek gained by 19.7% and FiberHome Optical Cable rose by 15.14%.
