According to the report by the "Nikkei" on September 9th, a joint battery factory in Georgia, USA, owned by Hyundai Motor and LG Energy Solution was raided by US immigration authorities last week, leading to the detention of 475 people. Among them, in addition to the more than 300 Korean workers who have been widely reported, there were also 3 Japanese and 8 to 9 Chinese individuals detained. LG Energy Solution revealed on the 9th that the 3 Japanese detainees belong to a company that produces equipment for making electric vehicle battery electrodes, while the 8 to 9 Chinese individuals are related to a supplier of battery manufacturing equipment.
