ASM and the French artificial intelligence company have reached a strategic cooperation agreement.

Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer ASML announced on the 9th that it has reached a strategic cooperation agreement with the French artificial intelligence company Mistral, and will invest 1.3 billion euros in the company. ASML stated in a statement on the same day that under the long-term cooperation agreement framework, the two parties will jointly explore the application of artificial intelligence technology in ASML's products, as well as in research and development, production, and operations, in order to bring faster product launch cycles and higher performance overall lithography systems to benefit ASML's customers. In addition, ASML will participate as a lead investor in Mistral's Series C financing, investing 1.3 billion euros. After the financing is completed, ASML will hold approximately 11% of Mistral's shares, and will also obtain a seat on Mistral's strategic advisory committee, with ASML's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Roger Dassen, serving as a member of the committee. ASML President and CEO Christophe Fouquet stated that this collaboration aims to empower ASML's innovative products and solutions through artificial intelligence, and to open up more possibilities for future joint research. Arthur Mensch, co-founder and CEO of Mistral, stated that this cooperation will combine the company's expertise in cutting-edge artificial intelligence with ASML's industry leadership and advanced engineering capabilities, to drive technological progress in the global semiconductor and artificial intelligence value chain.
