Over 80% of German adults support age restrictions for social media users.

A recent opinion poll shows that more than 80% of German adults support setting an age limit for social media users, with nearly half of teenagers also in favor of this measure. Citing a survey conducted by the Munich Institute for Economic Research, Kyodo News reported on the 9th that nearly 3,000 respondents aged 18 to 69 support setting the minimum age for using social media at 16 years old. Among over 1,000 respondents aged 14 to 17, nearly half also support this measure. The survey found that Germans spend a lot of time on social media. Among teenagers aged 14 to 17, the percentage of daily social media users reaches 96%; among adults, this percentage also reaches 90%.
