Natural gas prices in Europe fell as traders assessed supply conditions ahead of the heating season, with multiple bearish factors offsetting concerns about further sanctions on Russia and its energy exports. Benchmark futures fell after jumping to a near two-week high the previous trading day. European liquefied natural gas imports remained strong, with recent supplies reaching a 13-week high, helping the region cope with maintenance work in Norway and reduced supply from Algeria to Italy. "News related to sanctions on Russia will drive short-term price fluctuations in the natural gas market," said Florence Schmit, energy strategist at Rabobank.
