China Automotive Technology and Research Center: The five major demonstration city clusters of hydrogen refueling stations for fuel cell vehicles in China have accumulated to over 180 stations.
On September 9th, Zhao Lutian, a researcher at the China Automotive Strategic and Policy Research Center's Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Research Institute, introduced at the China Automobile Hydrogen Technology Release Conference that up to now, the cumulative promotion scale of fuel cell vehicles in the five major demonstration city clusters in China has reached 18,000 vehicles, with over 180 hydrogen refueling stations built. It is reported that China's demonstration and promotion of fuel cell vehicles are mainly focused on commercial vehicles, with heavy-duty trucks accounting for nearly 60% of the total, and the distribution area being the most widespread. Zhao Lutian disclosed that the China Automotive Policy Research Institute is researching the use of big data to quantify the carbon emission reduction of hydrogen fuel and fuel cell vehicles, in order to achieve a virtuous cycle and market expansion for fuel cell vehicles.
