The first batch introduces two projects! Shenzhen for the first time offers affordable housing for eligible families outside of the waiting list.

On September 9th, the official website of the Shenzhen Housing and Construction Bureau released a notice on the remaining housing resources for the Sail Bay Residences and the Shanyue Bay Garden affordable housing project on the official website of the Nanshan District Government. The notice specifies that after two public sales to families on the waiting list for affordable housing, if there are remaining housing resources, another notice will be issued for the sale to families who meet the requirements for affordable housing but are not on the waiting list. This is the first time in Shenzhen that affordable housing has been sold to families who meet the requirements but are not on the waiting list. The Sail Bay Residences and Shanyue Bay Garden projects had previously been sold to families on the waiting list for affordable housing, but after several rounds of sales, some housing resources remained unused. With the release of this notification, while ensuring that families on the waiting list have their housing needs met and are given priority in selecting houses, housing difficulties for families who are not on the waiting list but meet the requirements will also have the opportunity to be addressed. This initiative taken by the authorities is a proactive response to the changing supply and demand situation for affordable housing, addressing public concerns and promoting fair utilization of affordable housing resources.
