Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, China Meteorological Administration jointly issued agriculture field waterlogging risk alert.

From September 10th to 12th, heavy to torrential rain is expected in the southeastern part of the northwest region, southern part of North China, and regions such as the Huang-Huai River area. Locally, there may be strong convective weather with short-term heavy rainfall. There is a high risk of waterlogging in farmland in the central and southern parts of Shaanxi, the southern parts of Shanxi, most parts of Henan, and the central and southern parts of Shandong. In some areas of northern and central Henan, as well as the southern part of the Shandong Peninsula, there is a high risk of waterlogging, which may lead to water accumulation in low-lying farmland, causing premature aging of the root systems of dryland crops and possibly lodging in some areas, affecting the formation and harvest of crops in the later period. It is recommended that the above-mentioned areas should manage drainage facilities effectively, clear ditches and channels in advance, promptly drain accumulated water, and apply timely fertilizer based on crop growth after the rain, or conduct "one spray multiple applications" to strengthen monitoring and control of crop pests and diseases, in order to alleviate the harm of waterlogging.
