OPEC + launches "Next Round of Oil Supply" Accelerated Recovery Plan

OPEC+ has agreed to increase oil production again next month. After many years of implementing a "price support" policy, the organization is further advancing towards a policy shift to "expanding production". In a video conference on Sunday, core members of the alliance have approved a plan to increase daily oil production by approximately 137,000 barrels starting from October, and will continue this production increase pace until September next year. This move signals that OPEC+ is accelerating the cancellation of the "next round of supply cuts" measures. This means that the daily oil production capacity of 1.65 million barrels, which was originally planned to remain in a "production cut suspension" state until the end of 2026, will now resume supply at a much faster pace than previously expected.

IT Home September 9th news Tesla has released two new energy storage products, the next-generation utility-grade energy storage system Megapack 3, and the integrated Megapack 3 with transformers and switchgear, Megablock. These two products were officially unveiled at the launch event in Las Vegas. The newly released Megapack 3 is the next generation of Tesla's largest fixed energy storage battery system. This product uses larger 2.8-liter battery cell energy storage capacity, which has significantly increased compared to the previous generation Megapack 2's 3.9 megawatt-hour. The new capacity can reach approximately 5 megawatt-hours. Tesla has also greatly simplified the cooling chamber structure, reducing the number of connection points by 78%. However, the most attention-grabbing product in this release is the Megablock. This product integrates four Megapack 3 units directly with megavolt transformers and switchgear. Tesla stated that due to more assembly processes being transferred to the factory for completion rather than on-site construction, the installation speed of Megablock has increased by 23%. Tesla Energy and Charging Business Vice President Mike Snyder revealed that with this new Megablock configuration, the company can deploy 1 gigawatt-hour of energy storage capacity within 20 working days. In addition, Tesla claims that this product can also increase the energy density of the site, achieving 248 megawatt-hours of energy storage capacity per acre of land. Snyder also announced that Tesla plans to start producing Megapack 3 in Houston by the end of 2026. IT Home noted that news in March this year showed Tesla was building a new Gigafactory in Houston. According to the energy business executive, the factory's annual production capacity will reach 50 gigawatt-hours.
