The themed event of "International Clean Air Blue Sky Day" hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme office in China was recently held in Beijing. Experts pointed out that in the past decade, China's GDP has increased by 69%, while PM2.5 concentration has decreased by 57% and the number of heavy pollution days has decreased by 92%. China has significantly improved air quality while maintaining economic growth of over 5%, attracting global attention. It is estimated that by 2060, China's annual average concentration of PM2.5 is expected to decrease from the current twenty-something micrograms per cubic meter to single digits.
