Typhoon "Taba" approaches western Guangdong. The National Marine Forecasting Center has issued a double warning.
Reporters learned from the Ministry of Natural Resources that the tropical depression in the South China Sea has intensified into this year's 16th typhoon, named "Taba", as of last night, and is currently approaching the coastal areas of western Guangdong. Due to its impact, it is expected that there will be large to huge waves in the nearshore waters of western Guangdong, and there will be a storm surge process along the coast from Shenzhen to Zhanjiang, Guangdong. The National Marine Forecasting Center issued an orange wave warning and a yellow storm surge warning this morning. The center of Typhoon "Taba" was located about 445 kilometers southeast of Yangjiang City, Guangdong Province at 7 am today. According to the China Meteorological Administration, "Taba" will move northwestward, gradually strengthening, and is expected to land along the coast from Zhuhai to Zhanjiang in Guangdong in the early morning to noon on the 8th, after which its intensity will gradually weaken.
