The ongoing armed conflict in Sudan for more than two years has dealt a heavy blow to agricultural production in Sudan, leading to a sharp decline in food production and causing an unprecedented food security crisis. Nearly half of the population in Sudan is in a state of "severe food insecurity," or even worse. On the 6th, the World Health Organization said that Sudan is deeply mired in a hunger crisis, with famine confirmed in some areas. According to UN data, approximately 24.6 million people in Sudan are in a state of "severe food insecurity" or worse, accounting for nearly half of the population, with approximately 637,000 people in the most severe level of food insecurity, known as "catastrophic food insecurity."
