The price difference between online and offline stores at the same pharmacy is more than three times. The pharmacy says online prices are cheaper because the platform provides subsidies.
In the same pharmacy, with the same medicine, the online price is only a few dollars, but offline you have to spend more than thirty dollars, a difference of more than three times? Recently, reporters tested ten physical pharmacies such as Fumei, Leiyunshang, Huashi, Haoyaoshi, Laobaixing, Yifeng, and Huifeng, and found that in some pharmacies, the same medicine is more expensive in physical stores than in their online stores, with the largest price difference being more than three times. For example, Laobaixing pharmacy's "Renhe" artificial musk nitrofurazone capsules, priced at 8.68 yuan online, cost 32 yuan offline, with a price difference of 23.32 yuan. Why is there such a big price difference between online and offline? Several pharmacy staff told reporters that the reason why online prices are much cheaper is because the platform subsidizes the medicines, "but not all medicines are cheaper online, there are also some that are more expensive online and cheaper offline, it mainly depends on which medicines are subsidized." Some staff said that consumers can choose according to their own needs, if they think it's cheaper online, they can buy directly from the website, but online purchases have a minimum order requirement, and when added up, the cost is also not low. The medical insurance department has issued relevant documents, requiring the prices of medicines in offline retail pharmacies and other channels to be compared with the "immediate delivery price" of online medicine sales platforms, and if exceptionally high prices are found, pharmaceutical companies are urged to adjust them voluntarily. Some places have also introduced policies requiring that the offline sales prices of the same designated pharmacy should not exceed 20% of the prices displayed by the pharmacy through online medicine sales platforms.
