The State Administration for Market Regulation recently approved the release of the national standard "Technical Requirements for Desks and Chairs for Midday Rest for Primary and Secondary School Students," which will officially take effect on February 1st next year. The standard specifies strict requirements for the materials, performance, and structure of desks and chairs for midday rest. When primary and secondary school students take a nap, they can now use folding desks and chairs that meet the standard. During interviews, reporters learned that "transformable" desks and chairs for midday rest have already been put into use in many places. In schools in cities such as Hefei in Anhui and Quanzhou in Fujian, children can now take a nap lying down in the classroom.
