Smart driving evaluation system launched to scientifically classify smart driving abilities.
The China Automotive Engineering Research Institute recently introduced the "Intelligent Driving Pyramid Grading Evaluation System", which scientifically grades the intelligent driving capabilities for the first time, providing the industry with a full-dimensional evaluation reference from basic compliance to technological forefront. This system divides intelligent driving into three levels: "Safety Baseline", "Comprehensive Optimal" and "Extreme Intelligence". The Safety Baseline level focuses on regulatory compliance, covering domestic and international standard tests to ensure basic functions are compliant; the Comprehensive Optimal level uses "user-friendliness" as the standard, conducting tests in both closed venues and open roads to replicate typical daily consumer scenarios, selecting the "top students" in multiple dimensions; the Extreme Intelligence level further raises the difficulty, conducting extreme operating condition tests for some complex critical driving scenarios, quantifying the system's human-like decision-making abilities.
