The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing announced the China Warehousing Index for August today. Due to the impact of high temperatures and rainy weather, as well as the entry of some bulk commodity markets into the off-season, the demand for warehousing business is relatively sluggish, and the industry's operation has fluctuated. However, the business activity expectation index continues to rise within the expansion range, and enterprises remain optimistic about the future market. The China Warehousing Index for August was 49.3%, a decrease of 0.8 percentage points from the previous month. In terms of demand, the new order index has declined compared to the previous period. Due to the impact of the off-season market, the steel warehousing new order index showed a significant decrease on a month-on-month basis; the food warehousing new order index has been below 50% for two consecutive months. In addition, weather factors restrict the efficiency of inbound and outbound operations, coupled with weak terminal demand, resulting in a slight slowdown in the turnover speed of goods. However, inventory levels remain stable, laying a foundation for the recovery of market demand in the future. In particular, the inventory of non-ferrous metals has increased significantly.
