FTC chairman criticizes non-compete agreements

Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission: As the Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, one of my top priorities is to protect American workers from anticompetitive practices. When employers force employees to sign non-compete agreements, they are able to avoid talent competition from rival companies. This practice can lead to lower wage levels, reduced employment opportunities, and an increase in prices paid by consumers.
