This afternoon, Huawei held its autumn new product launch event in Shenzhen. The starting price for the new Huawei foldable screen phone is 17,999 yuan, which is 2,000 yuan lower than the first-generation product. Industry insiders believe that in addition to the maturity of the industry chain and the decrease in costs, this pricing strategy is also aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the new phone. Compared to the first generation foldable screen phone released last year, the new phone is equipped with a stylus pen and has been upgraded in terms of chips and imaging. It also supports downloading PC applications on the phone for the first time. Meanwhile, Samsung, Apple, OPPO, Xiaomi, Honor, and other manufacturers have announced their plans to release new phones this autumn. The fourth round of consumer subsidies is expected to be issued in October, marking the beginning of the peak season for electronic product consumption. In addition, foldable screens have become the breakthrough with the most growth potential in the mobile phone industry. Currently, mainstream phone manufacturers other than Apple have released multiple foldable screen phones. Data shows that as of August 24th, the sales of foldable screen phones in the Chinese market this year totaled 5.88 million units, a 26% year-on-year increase, and the penetration rate of foldable screen phone sales has risen to 3.2%.
