On the evening of September 4th, Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, who was in China to attend the 80th anniversary commemoration of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Xi Jinping pointed out that China and North Korea are good neighbors, good friends, and good comrades with shared destiny and mutual assistance. The friendship between China and North Korea has a long history, as both countries are socialist states led by communist parties with common ideals and goals. Kim Jong-un's attendance at the commemoration event demonstrates North Korea's firm determination to uphold the results of the victory in World War II and provides an important opportunity for the further development of friendly cooperation between the two parties and countries. Xi Jinping congratulated the Workers' Party of Korea on its 80th anniversary and emphasized that China is comprehensively promoting the construction of a strong country in a Chinese way and a great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. North Korea has continuously achieved new achievements in socialist construction. China attaches great importance to the traditional friendship between China and North Korea and is willing to maintain, consolidate, and develop bilateral relations. China will continue to support North Korea's development path that suits its national conditions and create a new era in North Korea's socialist cause. Xi Jinping stressed that in the face of unprecedented global challenges, he has proposed the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and global development initiatives, global security initiatives, global civilization initiatives, and global governance initiatives, which have received positive support and response from North Korea. China and North Korea should strengthen strategic cooperation in international and regional affairs to safeguard common interests. Regarding the issue of the Korean Peninsula, China has always adhered to an objective and fair position and is willing to continue coordinating with North Korea to maintain peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula. Kim Jong-un stated that the 80th anniversary commemoration of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War was grand and attracted worldwide attention, demonstrating China's firm determination to uphold world peace and highlighting China's important international position and influence.
