The Trump administration said on Wednesday that it was "very concerned" about the decision of the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund to divest from the American construction equipment giant Caterpillar, and added that Washington was in direct contact with the Norwegian government on the issue. The $2 trillion Norwegian sovereign wealth fund announced last week that it was divesting from Caterpillar, as the company's products such as bulldozers were used by Israeli authorities for "widespread and systematic violations of international humanitarian law," such as "large-scale illegal destruction of Palestinian property." The fund stated that Caterpillar "failed to take any action to prevent such use."
