Our scientists reveal a new mechanism for the origin of plant genes.

The international academic journal "Cell" published a research article titled "A de novo originated gene drives rose scent diversification" by Professor Ning Guogui from the National Key Laboratory of Fruit and Vegetable Horticulture Innovation and Utilization at Huazhong Agricultural University on the night of September 2nd Beijing time. The research revealed a novel multi-step process of gene birth and the mechanism of its impact on plant traits. This study not only provides a new perspective on the origin mechanism of plant genes but also opens up new possibilities for designing new genes and improving biological traits in the field of botany.
