OpenAI is reportedly planning to acquire product testing startup Statsig for $1.1 billion.
OpenAI has agreed to acquire product testing startup Statsig in an all-stock deal worth $1.1 billion, marking one of the largest acquisition deals for the ChatGPT developer since its inception. Statsig, founded in 2021, is dedicated to developing tools to help software developers test and tag potential new features. According to the Statsig website, employees from OpenAI, Eventbrite Inc., SoundCloud Ltd., and other tech companies have already used its services. Statsig raised $100 million in an earlier funding round this year, valuing the company at $1.1 billion. As part of the acquisition deal, Statsig founder and CEO Vijaye Raji will join OpenAI as Chief Technology Officer of Applications. OpenAI has been more aggressive in large acquisitions this year, partly due to its soaring valuation.
